Obagi Blue Peel

The Obagi BLUE PEEL is a one to four step application of blue solution mixed with TCA (Trichloracetic Acid). These applications will lead to the removal of thin surface layers of aged and damaged skin. Layers of dead skin cells exfoliate and are replaced by healthier ones. Anyone who wants to look better and reverse the appearance of the aging process should consider a Blue Peel. Those who have blemish-prone skin, wrinkles, pigmentation problems, sun damage, or general poor skin quality will benefit the most. Using slow acting TCA, instead of glycolic acid, the Obagi BLUE PEEL enables the aesthetician to control the peel process and its depth. The Medical Spa at the Breslow Center now offers 15% and 20% Blue Peels with 20% being the strongest. If you have any other questions, you can visit our website. www.BreslowMD.com

Hypertrophic Scar Treatment Cost - What is the Price of Treating Hypertrophic Scarring?

!±8± Hypertrophic Scar Treatment Cost - What is the Price of Treating Hypertrophic Scarring?

One of the most unsightly scars that anyone should ever have to deal with is that of the hypertrophic scar. This type of scar is very visible and raised above the level of the surrounding skin. Furthermore the scar is not just limited to the traumatized area but it may also expand outwards from these areas and are generally found with keloids. Treatment for the scarring is very difficult and in general it is also not very cheap. While there are several means to remedy the scars, only a few have been proven to be successful and therefore we will only focus on the costs associated with these hypertrophic scar treatments.

For starters the hypertrophic scarring is a skin issue and therefore the surgeon who will be dealing with the procedure will most likely be a dermatologist but another specialist may also perform the procedure. There is also the issue of your skin pigmentation. The remedies that are known to be successful are usually only good for fair skinned patients as hypopigmentation is likely to result from the procedure which can become very unsightly for someone who has undergone a hypertrophic treatment. In general the surgeon will warn you of the chance of hypopigmentation if it applies to your particular case.

There are many factors that come into play with the options that you may be given for your scar treatment and in some cases the average patient s only left with one real option. If you are suffering from a hypertrophic scar then it is usually the best advice to seek the consultation of a qualified, licensed and certified professional who will be better able to help you understand the procedure and the costs associated with it.

Remember that the dermatologist is an expert in the skin and you should therefore listen to his or her advice closely as they have the experience that can make the difference between a successful or a botched scar treatment.

The surgeon may opt to have you undergo a blue dye pulsed laser resurfacing procedure as ir is this procedure that has been shown to have the best outcomes associated with the hypertrophic scars. While some others may give you the option of microdermabrasions or chemical peels it is important to remember that the hypertrophic scar is a reoccurring scar. What this means is that it has a bad habit of reappearing after undergoing a treatment especially when it comes to the chemical peels and the microdermabrasions. The blue dyed pulsed laser resurfacing has the highest success rate. Most of those who have undergone this particular scar treatment has not seen their scars return even after 4 years.

The Best Facial For Wrinkles

!±8± The Best Facial For Wrinkles

It is not uncommon for women to be on the look-out for a facial for wrinkles that can make them appear younger. Just look at a local newspaper or magazine and you will most likely be able to find numerous examples of spas, dermatology clinics, and plastic surgery offices that offer various types of facial treatments that promise to make you look like you've taken 10 years off of your appearance.

In our current society, there are many options when it comes to getting rid of wrinkles on one's face. We have Botox, lots of fillers, wrinkle creams and, last but not least, there are a number of facials that have shown promise in eradicating wrinkles.

Some examples include alpha-hydroxy acid peels, glycolic acid and citric acid peels. You can see that most of these are "peels," or treatments based on chemical removal of dead skin cells from the surface of the face. Conversely, other types of treatments physically remove dead skin cells, and don't use chemicals at all.

A facial for wrinkles that is quite new, and has not been talked about on the internet forums or written about like so many others have, is known as the "amber crystals facial." This facial treatment is very similar to microdermabrasion, a well-known physical modality that removes dead skin and has been used in dermatology clinics for years (it's literally like a miniature sandblasting of your face). Dermabrasion is very helpful because it not only gets rid of dead skin, it also unclogs pores, smoothes out rough skin (reduction of acne scars is a good example of this), and reduces age spots.

But although dermabrasion treatments are extremely popular in the U.S. (they are one of the most commonly performed cosmetic procedures), there are a number of advantages when using an amber crystals facial, including:

Amber crystals do not traumatize the face like typical dermabrasion treatments do. Certain clients are also advised to use caution when undergoing dermabrasion treatments, such as women who are pregnant or breastfeeding, and those with rosacea, dermatitis, lupus, psoriasis, and diabetes. Amber facials are much less costly when compared to an in-office dermabrasion treatment. A series of dermabrasion sessions can run as high as a few thousand dollars. Case studies have been published where patients have experienced reduced fine lines around the eyes and forehead, as well as improved texture and tone of the skin. Other reports indicate that this amber facial for wrinkles will help with excessive pigmentation of the skin, blotchiness, and roughness, leaving the skin smooth and less discolored. Regular amber facials can lead to improvements in skin wrinkles as well as the appearance of sun-damaged skin. Also, there is a general overall improvement in how young skin looks after 2-4 weeks of amber crystal facials.

And talk about being healthy and natural; amber crystals are obtained from the remnants of trees that were carried to the ocean floor millions of years ago. They have a blue-green color and have the documented ability to safely remove dead skin cells from facial skin when applied on a daily basis.

So the next time you get the urge to have your face sandblasted with some dermabrasion treatments, you might want to try a facial for wrinkles that involves amber crystals. It's safe, inexpensive, and it works.
